The Aggies Rally Past the Mavericks 8-4

GLOBE LIFE FIELD – A four-run lead slipped away from the UT Arlington baseball team (22-23) on Tuesday night as Texas A&M defeated the Mavericks 8-4 at Globe Life Field.

Andrew Miller led the Mavericks with seven hits on the day going for 3-for-4. Miller also brought in all four runs for the Mavericks.

UTA had a chance to extend their lead in the second, loading the bases with just one out. The Mavericks were unable to plate any more runs, however, ending the inning with a strikeout and groundout to strand the three runners.

Things started to fall apart for the Mavericks in the 5th inning with two singles and an interference with the catcher while the bases were loaded for the Aggies. Bryan Sturges made a connection with the ball sending it deep into left field. The ball bounced off JD Wadleigh's glove allowing all three Aggies on bases to run home.

The Aggies took the lead an inning later, plating three more runs. With runners at first and second, a single to short stop scored one and kept runners at the corners, allowing for a sacrifice fly to score the go-ahead run.

Texas A&M scored one run in both the 8th and 9th inning as insurance runs. A solo home run came in the 8th inning, while a RBI single to right center finished the scoring at 8-4.
